Braxton Hicks. What should they feel like?

Postby DandNBaby » Thu Nov 05, 2015 1:47 pm

So I'm 28 weeks today and I've experienced what I believe to be Braxton Hicks but I wouldn't know since... well, they're probably my firsts.
I felt strong stabbing pain from like 2inches above my pubic bone.
It felt like how a streched muscle would feel times 50 (If there was a massive muscle over there)
but it stopped after about 3 minutes.
So from anyone's experience, does it sound like it?
I didn't really mind it... Means we're getting closer to the EDD, and by now I got used to feel itchy and sore for no apperant reason :)

I'm not sure it's supposed to feel like that, form what I've been told/read. Haven't experienced them yet, to my knowledge, but I've been told is not supposed to hurt (although, for some it feels like af pains) and feel like your whole stomach went rock hard for a brief moment.

Maybe you should confirm with your doc.

Braxton Hicks for me doesn't really hurt but my belly gets really tight. It is enough for me to stop because I know something is going on. It can be uncomfortable and it kind of reminds me of really light period cramps. I am sure everyone is different so yours may or may not feel the same.

For me, my right side gets all balled up! It doesn't hurt at all, it's like my muscles are flexing and holding still fir 30-60 seconds. Here's a pic of it in action!!

Mine are lower and feel like AF cramps, not especially painful but not exactly comfortable either.

Artemis, love the belly pic, and love the kitty snuggled up next to you! :)

It feels like nothing else. As if your uterus is going to do a sit-up, it flexes. Your whole tummy gets hard for a few seconds. It doesn't hurt a lot, just feels odd, and worried me at the time b/c I had like 15 a day from around 28 weeks on. But I was never dilating until I was in real labor and nothing was wrong. Healthy baby girl delivered at 37 + 3.
