Anyone familiar with the Ramzi theory? I had a transvaginal US at 7wks. And I can't tell where the placenta is to even make a guess. Can someone help me out?

Carebear. My guess is boy based on the skull theory. Can't see a good nub shot to go off of.

Help!
Hello all! I am hoping to get some advice. I had an early ultrasound at an elective place just to get some peace of mind that I didn't have another ectopic pregnancy. The only thing, they only do abdominal ultrasounds. I was nervous we wouldn't see much being so early and on top of the belly. The good news is we saw a sac and a yolk sac. She thought she saw the fetal pole and a flicker but it was super hard to see. Should I be worried? Does anyone know is it more difficult to see the actual baby at this point on top of the stomach? I have had early ultrasounds transvaginal and we were able to see the baby. Please let me know your thoughts! I am not 100% certain of my ovulation date but I should be close. 'm a worrier and a panicker. Thank you!

I don't think you have anything to worry about at all. As far as I'm aware, it sounds right on track and I think at that stage a heartbeat is only likely to show on a transvaginal, but maybe someone else has some insight too? Try and relax, and congratulations!!x

Thank you for your response! That's what I am hoping so too! It was pretty hard to see everything, so I am hoping it's because it wasn't transvaginal.

I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 5+5 and they could only see a yolk and sac and now I'm 31 weeks with a healthy baby so it sounds like you're right on track!

I have an Ultrasound questions topic going in the TTC boards, and some have asked me to put one here. I am a Registered Generalist Sonographer with American and Canadian Credentials, and have the OB/GYN specialties (among others). Feel free to ask anything :)

Hi,

Sorry I noticed this thread has not been active in a while, but I had a question. I had my 20 week scan on the 9th. The doctor said everything looked great. I measured 20 weeks, 3 days (1 day off). I made the mistake of googling soft markers for Down syndrome and I have been obsessing and worrying all day. I know the absence of a nasal bone is a soft marker. I emailed my doctor about it and he said "we don't always get a great view of the nasal bone and the nasal bone alone is not a very reliable indicator of an abnormality. I have not done any testing for Down syndrome. I have been looking at my picture over and over and can't see the nasal bone. I've attached photos from my appointment
