Pregnant and working nights?

Postby cbusluv » Tue Dec 15, 2015 10:59 am

Anyone out there have any tips for getting through the night shift during the first trimester? I work 12 he shifts and feel like I can barely function for the last 6.

I have no advice sorry! I work more typical hours. First tri wasn't too terrible because of tiredness but morning sickness really trashed me. All I can say is people typically understand that you are trying your best.

that must be really tough cbusluv, sorry :( I have never worked night shifts but my first trimester was really tough and what helped me was trying to get sleep at every possible opportunity, I slept 10-12 hours a day sometimes and it helped me stay more awake at work than I was in my last pregnancy. There were some weekends I'd nap 2 or 3 times in a day lol

I am 6+4 now and it's been rough, especially working 3 12s in a row and now having nausea. I am pretty much miserable the last half of each shift :(

I sincerely hope working starts to get easier for you! I'm not going to lie, I'm 37+4 and working (just your typical 40 hr work week) and I can barely keep up any more. Somewhere in the second trimester was my sweet spot, but honestly it has never been easy for me. I hope you are at least blessed with some awesome coworkers who understand!

Thanks. I am only 7 +4 so I haven't told anyone yet. I am hoping once everyone knows they will take it easy on me.
