Anything pregnancy-related can be discussed here

So a few months ago, before I got pregnant, my DS was diagnosed with having 5ths disease. He was pretty sick and then at the end he got a rash... I thought, like chicken pox, kids only got it once.
Now he's been sick since around Christmas, seems to be improving, but this morning a very similar rash showed up all over his torso. He just got his MMR on the 21st or so. Could it be from his shots or does he possibly have 5ths again??
Should I be concerned? I know its bad for pregnant women.. I've felt off, but didn't really get the typical 5ths symptoms. No fever, no rash, my nose is dry, my throat isn't sore. I have had headaches, a slight cough, and various joints have been achey for a couple days. I'm going to call my obgyn office tomorrow, hopefully they're open. The weekend is a terrible time to need something medically...*sigh*

Most people/kids develop immunity after having fifth disease once. When I was pregnant with my first, my dr tested me for immunity since I teach young children. Since we had a colleague lose a pregnancy (she was 8 months along) due to fifth disease, pregnant teachers are urged by our union to get tested and not to work until results come back in. It's worth seeing your dr if you are concerned.

Thank you, I really think it was a reaction to his MMR. A rash can happen 1/5 times.. Poor kid got lucky

Concerning the rash you saw on him for the second time, be warned, my little sister, mother, and myself all came down with it about a year ago (doctor diagnosed), and to this day, we will notice that we all still break out in that rash. After extensive research, I learned that it's only supposed to return off and on for about 6 months (longest I heard of) and is often induced by a hot bath or stress, but it's been a little over a year and all three of STILL break out in that rash and get mildly ill every time. The rash is very distinctive so we know what it is. We've gotten to where we can watch my sister's behavior and say, "she must be broke out," and check and learn that we were right. Oddly enough, we all seem to break out around the same times too. I'm telling you, it is the strangest illness we've ever encountered and it still baffles us as to how we still break out intermittently.
