Which do you like the most for a boy?

We have been struggling to think of a boys name, and these are the top runners so far, that keep getting thrown out..

William Beckett and Oliver James. If your last name is very strong, like Shulman or something I say Oliver since it's softer. If it's more soft like Smith or Shultz, I say William. Beckett is a very strong middle name so it would sound very choppy with a last name that had more than one _____ while James is only one ______ so it needs a stronger last name to follow it up, if that maes any sense to you. lol.

The blanks are to be filled with that term that means the breaking of words into the amount of sounds. School teachers used to say count how many times your tongue touches the top of you mouth. I'll remember it tomorrow... Pregnant and tired brain is so killing me.

ex: Smith has 1, Oliver has 3 (ol-i-ver), amanda has 3 also, marie has 2, etc.

Someone knows what my battered brain means.

EDITED 2 MINUTES AFTER POSTING SAY: THE WORD IS SYLLABLE. LOL. I FINALLY REMEMBERED. I HATE WHEN THINGS ARE ON THE TIP OF MY TONGUE. :)
