KatyinDC wrote:A -- I think your numbers are ok because it doubles every 2-3 days so your betas may be doubling every 72 hrs or so and also, your numbers are from a bit later -- and the further along in your pregnancy, your doubling slows.

Also I would assume if you have made it to 30,000 hcg level, you must be progressing!

But, I am not an expert, what did your dr say?

Thanks KatyinDC

I saw the lab results before talking to my doctor (I can get them online through patient portal once they are processed). But after talking with my doctor he told me that I'm high enough now that it won't double the same as earlier on. So I feel better about things :)

Starting to enjoying baby "window" shopping online now. So I sure hope I have a sticky baby. My heart is fully in this now.

Aboulanger -- I totally get the "all in" I am excited about this baby but after a past miscarriage, I find myself not as invested as with the first. I mean, I will be invested -- but I need to see that heartbeat first!! Then I will window shop (and actually shop!)

I did pull out our box of baby things from the first baby last night -- and holding those tiny clothes and toys did get me excited!

Taken from Table 2

Summary of Outcome by hCG levels

What this study found:

25 - 50 hCG at 16dpo -- Four women in this study had hCG levels below 50 at this stage. The researchers concluded that with these levels less than 25% would continue on with their pregnancy with more than 75% miscarrying.

50 - 100 hCG at 16dpo -- Of 16 women, 25% continued on with their pregnancies.

100 - 199 hCG at 16dpo -- Of 27 women with these levels, 73% continued on with their pregnancies.

200 - 299 hCG at 16dpo -- Of 48 women, 96% continued on with their pregnancies

Over 300 hCG -- All 105 women continued on with their pregnancies.

That does give me hope that my levels are alot higher this time

My levels last time were 41 at 14dpo so even with doubling would have likely been <100 at 16dpo and I did indeed miscarry at 7 weeks

This time my levels were over 400 at 16dpo! My science brain likes that study do you have the link Duke I like to read original sources :)

I just received the results of my first blood work back. 3533 at what I thought was only 17dpo. I must have ovulated much earlier than I thought. My doctor said that correlates with 5 weeks pregnant, but I'm only 4 weeks and 6 days since my last period. Ahhhh!

I wasn't charting so I don't know exact O day - but I know I've pinned O day between a 3 day range (due to O pains & typical O day in the past).

1st beta at 22-24dpo = 6720

I just got 2nd beta drawn this morning, will update with that number!

Ladies - I feel like my 1st beta was on the high side, I can't help but wonder, twins?? Had an u/s the same day as my first beta (2 days ago) -I was dated 5 weeks and they only saw one sac (couldn't see yolk or baby since I'm so early). But this high beta has me wondering? What do you all think??

UPDATE: 2nd beta = 10521

Dr said it's okay that it didn't completely double, that it was close enough to 50% that it's okay....but I'm freaking out!

First beta: 14 dpo (estimate) 241
Second beta: 17 dpo (estimate) 853 woohoo!!

This still doesn't rule out blighted ovum or ectopic, which I've had both before, but is still a step in the right direction. What do you ladies think of these numbers?

Ok, so Im not 100% sure but I think im now 16DPO, I work in a lab so have the ability to test my own HCG levels. So 2 days ago I tested at a level of 91, and today it is 504.... does anyone else think that is a HUGE jump? I was shocked when i saw that level today.
