A lot can happen at this stage in a half of a week you might even see a heartbeat! But be glad the doctor at least found something, sometimes it is too early to see anything. Just trust the doctor if he believes it necessary, he will have you come back again.

I'm not a huge fan of ultrasounds and see no reason for early ones if you know your dates. *shrug*

I would perfer not to have the many Betas and ultrasounds cause it stress me out but being as though I had an early misscarriage in 2008 and this is my 2nd pregnancy after many cycles of fertllity treatments the Doctor is monitoring me very closely. Wish it was that easy as just knowing ur dates!

I also had an early ultrasound done, but mine were for dating purposes and to ensure it was a viable pregnancy. This was because I didn't have a cycle after my miscarriage. I believe I was 5w 4d and they saw a sac and what looked like a fetal pole. Then I went back at 7w 2d and saw the babies heartbeat. I know you already said you were going on Tuesday, but I think it's the right thing to do. If it's still to early then you'll get another! Happy & Heatlhy 9 months to you! Congrats :)

Alot of us here have had many losses and tubal pregnancies, seeing even a sac on an ultrasound when you have had blighted ovums and missed M/C can mean the world, it is also a part of the grieving process if something does go wrong.many times we are told there was "nothing in there" so even seeing a baby or sac and having a M/C helps the healing even if it is more painful at first.

Oh, for sure! But if she doesn't want the second ultrasound, I don't think she needs to do it.

We saw a fertility doctor and it was just part of the protocol to have an ultrasound at 5, 6, 7 weeks. It was reassuring to me to see that all of our efforts to have a child were working. We saw the sac at 5 weeks and then the heartbeat at 6 weeks. It made it more real to us to know we were finally pregnant. I'm a huge fan of the early ultrasounds, they kept me sane.

Jos- a lot can happen in a few days. Can't wait to hear about your ultrasound on Tues :)

Great U/S

Postby Jos » Tue Mar 08, 2011 7:56 am

Hey ladies, U/S went GREAT, I have a pic too but will upload later when I get home. We are measuring at 5 weeks 5 day, we got to see the yolk sac (I guess that is what its called). The Doctor was to excited with the progress and his face lit up when he seen the U/S pic. Hes so funny. But he want to see me one more time before he release me to my OBGYN so I will be back in three week. Yah:) By then so much will have changed and I be able to see the baby and heart beat. Thanks so much for all you ladies well wishes and advice, you're the BEST!
