Have you tried peppermint tea? Just peppermint only. It's safe and peppermint is a natural way to calm an upset stomach. I bought some since I know the nausea is going to get worse soon!

yep tried peppermint tea too, more for the bad bloating i was having as it aids digestion but doesnt help with nausea, it works brilliantly for the bloating but did nothing for the nausea. Although my doctor did say its used as a digestive aid so wouldnt expect it to help with nausea. x

Makes sense, so if its a digestive nausea then the peppermint tea works! Haha, sorry I have no idea past that. I found a trigger food that I eat when I am nauseous and it goes away. Maybe try some foods to see if one calms your stomach. For me it is oranges and orange juice, but I think its the vitamin c factor in it. I heard some people its like potatoes, chips, even things like lifesavers or red vines haha. If you didn't want to do a med like Zofran thats what I would try!

I had severe morning sickness/nausea up until last week!

The only thing that worked for me was anti sickness meds from the Dr!
The definitely took the edge off

I use meds now from dr and it helps but when it first started the meds didn't work because the nausea returned within a noir after taking it and you can only use it six hours apart.

I found hot soup worked, drinking worked but any food would turn my stomach. Only certain ice pops would taste ok, and

I had to eliminate lactose from my diet. My nausea was a combo of digestive nausea and stomach upset and it was severe.

I recommend liquids, protein shakes and I highly recommend vitamins during this period to compensate for what you can't eat! I'm almost twelve weeks and finally seeing nausea subsiding to a few episodes a day. Hang in there!

Ugh, so sorry you're dealing with this. I too had TERRIBLE constant morning sickness from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. At 12 weeks I got my appetite back, but the nausea is still hanging around at 19 weeks.

If you feel you've lost too many fluids, go to urgent care and they'll give you iv fluids and zofran. If you get to that point, its definitely worth going.

I've found the med that helps the most is diclegis. It's Unisom and vitamin b6. Both of those components you can get over the counter and some people say that works for them. For me, unisom and b6 did nothing for me, but the prescription diclegis made things manageable. I still take both diclegis and zofran (zofran alone wasn't enough for me.)

Even with the meds, I was pretty miserable for 6 weeks. I lost 25 lbs because I couldn't eat. It felt like SO much longer at the time, but now that it has passed, it seems much shorter.

Just remember, there is an end in sight! Hang in there. That sickness is a good sign that baby is doing well!

SO I read that the prenatal can actually cause nausea because of the iron. If your body isn't sending the iron as fast as it can to get out of your stomach, then you will throw up and feel nausea. Oranges, grapefruits, raspberries, and Lemons apparently help get the iron out of your stomach faster than your body can, as the enzymes in those fruits break it down. It makes sense since oranges help me. :) Try that maybe? Good luck ladies!

Yes, prenatals made me terribly sick, and they were iron -free. I take my iron separately. My OB had me take children's chewable vitamins and seaparate folic acid (eat with food!) until my nausea was under control.

Every pregnancy I couldn't stomach prenatal so children's worked fine.

Strange that oranges taste so good to me but too much for stomach.

Thanks ladies, im not concerned about being dehydrated at the moment, i seem to be able to keep enough down for now. I dont think the prenatals are making me sick and i really dont want to take meds if i can help it, although i doubt my doctor would give me anything unless i couldnt manage to keep ANYTHING down. I think maybe its just something im going to have to try to live with unless it gets worse, i think maybe its trial and error. I worked out that i was throwing up in the middle of the night last night cos my stomach was empty but not much i can do about that whilst im asleep. I dont seem to be able to cope with certain drinks either or anything even slightly fatty or greasy. as for the rest im hoping i'll work it out enough to cope for now and hopefully it will ease as i get closer to 12 weeks :/ Fingers crossed! when did al yours ease up?

I woke up on day one of week twelve feeling remarkably better. That was the end of the worst of it for me. I got my appetite back and didn't have severe food aversions any more, but the nausea has persisted and is STILL here at 19 weeks. I haven't thrown up in over a week, though! When I do, it's usually first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Once I eat I'm ok.
