extreme fatigue

Postby Libellule » Sat May 02, 2015 7:39 pm

Hi girls,

I know this is very common but, anyone out there experiencing extreme fatigue? I am about 5 weeks and some days I feel so ZONKED. I know they say exercise is important and can make you more energized, but how on earth do people manage to get exercise when they work full time? The work itself leaves me pretty tired by the end of the day.

I don't want to be so out of shape before the pregnancy has even started because I'm normally a fairly active person. Yet this feels like an uphill battle...

Your first trimester is exhausting. Most women wont exercise till the end of the first trimester or second trimester. Don't worry if you dont either. Fatigue is common and many women take naps or will sleep right when they get home. Me I work afternoons to early morning, so when I get home I sleep literally like from 1am to 11am lol. So I figured thats why I didnt nap to much. Just gotta find the groove you need to get through the day to sleep.

It is completely normal!! I just had a baby at the beginning of march and I still tell people that it was like I blacked out my whole first trimester! I was SOOOOO exhausted that I hardly remember it! Get lots of rest! To be honest... My first trimester and last month of pregnancy was worse then having a baby!! I am not even half as tired!

Now, my DH and I are trying again for #2 and I am 7DPO and for the last 3 days I have been EXHAUSTED like I was during my pregnancy so I am starting to think baby #2 has started cooking!

Congratulations on your newborn!! Fingers crossed for baby #2!

I think "blacked out" is a great way to describe it! I think my whole weekend just literally wasted away with me on the couch. I'm glad to know it will get better in the second trimester...

I completely understand - naps are your friend! I want to just sit on the couch all weekend too but I still work full time and hit the gym 4x a week - I still lift, though lighter weight. It's a struggle to get to the gym, and a struggle to get started, but about halfway through the workout I start feeling a lot better, and have the energy to get through the rest of the workout, make dinner when I get home and have some quality time with DH...and pass out soundly by 10pm lol ;)

Fatigue is my middle name. I am a home health nurse and im finding it harder to get up in the a.m. What's weird is my body wants to sleep and then I have insomnia. Weird.

I'm so tired all the time too! We went to my in-laws this weekend and they probably knew something was up because I'd fall sleep on the couch around 2pm every day.

As far as working out goes, I go to a class called barre3 and I go at 6am then straight to work. There's no way I could make myself workout after work. Once I'm home, I'm bound for my chair or my bed!

I am completely exhausted, all the time. The other day I literally fell asleep at my desk at work. I woke myself up when i let out a little snore. I was so embarrassed. Luckily it was right around lunch time so no one was around to see or hear me.
