scared out of my mind

Postby Donella1987 » Sun Jul 26, 2015 10:01 am

Hi guys

I found out on wednesday that i am pregnant which is fabulous because i was told i wouldn't have children.
I had a MC last september and i am so scared it will happen again :-S

I am eating right, taking all the correct vitamins etc but i just can't settle.

Im in the UK so my first scan isn't set until i am 12-14weeks :-(

does everyone have this fear or am i just being irrational???

Hi Donella, i`ve already had one DS, which was a pretty trouble free pregnancy and got my 2nd BFP not long ago, and even tho i have done it once i too am freaking out!! So in answer to your question i think it is pretty worrying for everyone. I paid for a scan and have done again this time at 7 weeks, i`m in the UK too. I see it as peace of mind, 12 weeks is far far too long for me to wait. I use babybond, but if you google early scans there are other private clinics that offer it.

By eating right and looking after yourself you are doing everything in your power to make sure you both are healthy, GL and fingers crossed you have an healthy and happy 9months : )

hi Ceebeebee

i am thinking of getting a private scan done, our clinic in Portsmouth is 'First Imaging' but it is £65 so not cheap, i have a doctors appointment on wednesday and i am thinking of playing dumb so they give me a dating scan lol!
I am glad i am not the only one who is worrying, this baby is soooooo wanted and just knowing it has a heart beat at this point is really reassuring. i am also thinking of buying a doppler lol, just to be sure x

£65 is really good!! The one i have booked for 7 weeks is £99. It is expensive but it is so so worth it. You get reassurance that babe is in right place, and get to hear heart beat. They check everything too, make sure ovaries look ok. You could try seeing if doc would give you an early scan, seeing as you guys have been trying so long and are so worried. Worth a shot. I never bought a doppler, i was scared i`d not be able to find the HB and that would make the worry worse, but lots of ladies on here buy them, and love the peace of mind.

Just a quick note on dopplers, even at 13 weeks my midwife had a really tough time finding the heartbeat - ended up having to push on my uterus to get baby in a position to hear it! Baby is still so low (and wiggly!) at that point that it is difficult to find. If you do go with a doppler, do not panic at all if you can't find a heartbeat this early. It is SO small and buried inside you for safekeeping that finding it will be very, very hard.

Wow I'm feeling pretty lucky in Australia . Had a scan at 6 weeks and another at 8 weeks tomorrow and are both free ! 65 pounds is insane !! Can you be cheeky and say you've got one sided sharp abdominal pain go to emergency . Ectopic is medical emergency so they'd have to do it . Stuff like this always bugged me about the nhs it's not a comprehensive health service and so much stuff isn't covered

You should just say you have no idea when your last period was, they'd have to give you a dating scan cause for all they know you might be 3 months in or something lol. My doctor was the one that told me I should pretend I didn't because she knew I wanted an early scan!
