9w4d spotting?

Postby mrscolviper3 » Sat Aug 29, 2015 10:49 am

I've spotted off/on every couple weeks. It's always worrying bc I had a miscarriage in March.

I'm just wondering is this normal? Is it from the uterus stretching? It's only light pink/brown and usually gone as fast as it came.

I had a bit of cramping when I first noticed it, but that's subsided.

I need to invest in a fetal doppler. I'm driving myself crazy.

A doppler at this point would just drive you more crazy. When I had spotting at 12 weeks, it took the nurse a good 10 minutes to find baby while I panicked the whole time - NOT fun! They are very difficult to find so early.

Spotting at this point is not terribly normal, but it's not unheard of. I had some minor spotting between weeks 6 and 8, and some heavier spotting around week 12. It ended up being a cervical polyp that we removed, and I've had no problems since. There are a LOT of benign reasons for spotting during pregnancy, and some women even spot through the entire thing. I would recommend calling your doctor as soon as you can though; they'll do tests and/or ultrasounds to find some answers, or at least reassure you that everything is okay.
