Painting my house?

Postby Sammiiee710 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 5:16 am

So I have a question for you ladies. We're closing on our home this week and I planned on doing the painting in a couple rooms as my DH is gone 70 hours a week and does not have the time to paint. I got my BFP just last week and now he is concerned about me painting. I read that latex paint is okay as long as it is in a vented area (windows open etc) but oil based paint is a no-no. What is your opinion on this ladies?

I've been painting away since my husband also is busy and, to be honest, completely sucks at it lol. Latex paint with well ventilated areas is perfectly fine! Since you are newly pregnant just watch out that the fumes don't make you feel light headed or nauseated, you might be sensitive to smell now :) Keep windows open and fans going!

Congrats!!

Wear a mask, maybe? And like Artemis said, keep it well ventilated.

Oh good! This was one thing I forgot to ask my midwife about. I was half way through a painting project when I got pregnant, so I've put it on hold for over a month now! The garage door is all sanded down (that's the half of the project I got done) and looks gross... It needs the fresh paint! And it seems waiting around for DH to do it means it will never get done. Glad to hear a few ladies on here agreeing that painting in a well ventilated area is probably fine. And since mine is an outdoor project it's plenty ventilated! ;)
