jaxon is out, my sister and a few others killed it for me when they told me the kid could be teased with names like: Jax Off, and Jaxshit.. damn!! hubby wants jake now no matter what.. kinda annoyed as his mum was say yep thats his name, Jake! kinda hopping its a girl now lol.. i think if i can talk him into Jacob (Jake for short) then it sounds better with the other names.. Jacob Craig Nass.. i think first name should have at least 2 syllables so it doesnt sound choppy and blunt.

thanks anyways.

My first thought was Jacob Craig sounds a lot better then you can just use Jake as a nickname. Jaxon has become SO popular this past year and I'm a little more traditional so I would spell it Jackson.

My son is Jack and one of my PITA friends said "Oh, like Jackass!" when we announced his arrival and name. We realized all of the bad variations that can go with Jack and don't care. I didn't expect a grown woman to bring it up when he was only a day old. I sort of thought that would wait until he was in school.

I actually prefer Jake from your choices mostly because I don't like the spelling with an "x".

Same. I personally for myself dislike "unique" spellings of names because to me they sometimes look like illiteracy.

Thanks for the replies ladies but the name Jaxon is now out due to it being an easy name to tease.

Every name is easy to tease. Just think of all of the hollywood characters who have had the name Jack...

Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves, Speed)

Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio, Titanic)

Jack Nickolson

Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp, Pirates..)

Etc. I used to be like you and not like it, but it has really grown on me in the past few years.

For what it's worth, I think the popularity of Jacob/Jake will go up due to Twilight. My baby was almost Jacob/Jake until we thought of Nickolas (actually my 2 year old thought of it LOL).

In the end, its your baby, name it what you want. I'm sure it will fit. :)
