NEED ADVICE on bleeding!

Postby Hfesing » Sun Sep 22, 2013 7:18 pm

Hey everyone. I have a subcorionic hemorrhage, so I've been bleeding since 11 weeks. I did have a large hemorrhage yesterday and ended up being admitted to the hospital for observation. The baby looks great and my blood work came back good. The dr said I could go back to work as usual and just do things as I tolerate them.

My question is this......do I go back to work tomorrow or take the extra day off to rest? I work in the housekeeping department of a nursing home, so I'm on my feet all day bending and twisting. Also.....I'm still bleeding like a period. And I just had a BM and had some pretty heavy bleeding after.

Also...found out that I have marginal placenta previa as well as the subchorionic hemorrhage.

I just need some advice on what to do.....

Take the extra day. This is your baby and you don't want to push it.

Thank you for the response! My gut tells me to stay home. The only part that stinks is that all of my leave is unpaid, but I'd never forgive myself it anything happened. The paycheck isn't worth losing my baby over.

Sorry this is late, but I'm completely with you here. Better safe than sorry. It really sucks to be unpaid, but I'm sure that it will just be a load off your mind to be just a little cautious and less stressful because of that.

Exactly. This is your baby. No money is hard but no baby is worse.

Just wanted to update.....I did stay home from work, and I'm sooooo happy I did. My bleeding had gotten worse over night and this morning, but now, (fingers crossed) it has seemed to slow down! I am going to also talk to my boss tomorrow to let her know that I will not be pushing myself as hard as I usually do. I'm sure she will agree because what boss wants any type of emergency to happen on the job!

Seen my specialist on Friday. Looks as if the placenta has re-attached and the bleed is resolved! FX that this pregnancy can go on normally now! I feel things have turned around due to the progesterone injections that I get weekly!!

That's so wonderful! We had an ultrasound at 17 weeks and my SCH was still there, but only 1cm. I hope by the 22 week scan it will be gone!!

Thank you for the response! Luckily, I haven't had a speck of blood since 16 weeks 3 days! Things actually started clearning up after I started progesterone injections and I started doing normal activity again. Rest seemed to not help the healing at all! Baby girl is now growing great!
