early gender scan 15 weeks? accurate or no.

Postby corty12 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 9:28 am

We are paying to have a gender scan done at 15 wks 3days. They said they are very accurate. They do offer a come back guarantee and dont make you pay unless they can for sure tell you. But lets say they do give me a gender has anyone else had good luck with that being right? I have heard so many negatives but not really from people who have had early scans. I'm currently 14weeks 3 days so only one more week. Please help I want to know if I should take it with a grain of salt or actually start getting excited. We will be happy with either. And I will try and post a pic Monday night to see if you agree or disagree with the tech! Thanks again!

A lot of ladies trust them, I've seen so many on here turn out to be the opposite by the anatomy scan. They are fun, though I'd probably wait until after the anatomy scan to do some shopping :lol4:

16 weeks is the earliest they do them from where I'm from (UK). I had mine bang on 16 weeks as couldn't wait for 20 week anomaly scan! The tech was very confident we are having a girl and we got a great potty shot. We will have it verified this Friday at the anomoly scan just to make sure.

It's good they won't make you pay unless you get an answer, that's the best thing about paying for a private scan.

You can also have gender verified at the anomoly scan (providing baby cooperates!) so don't go mad buying pink or blue until then!

Good luck!!

OH YES! I had our first one done with our twin boys at 16 weeks and it was very obvious they were boys. The sonographer gave us the correct gender.

We also had one done at 15w2d with our daughter by a friend that is a sonographer and she was also 100% correct. I was skeptical at first at finding out so early but thankfully, she was right!

good luck! hope you get a good peek!

Hi! I had a scan done at 12 weeks (for genetic screening) and they gave us a 80% accurate guess on gender. It looked pretty obvious to me once the tech explained what we were looking at. I think what adds to the uncertainty is they can't guarantee that the baby will be positioned well to discern gender. I guess we got lucky. We still plan to confirm genders before we buy too much baby stuff! Best wishes!

Thanks guys I have heard great reviews on the place. they used to do them at 14 weeks they said the moment they moved it into 15 they rarely have to have anyone come back. plus we won't really go crazy but I'd like to be calling my baby their name :) so we shall see I'm just so ecstatic.

We had a u/s with my daughter at 15w because of a bleed and our tech told us girl but she was only going to give us an 85% guarantee. She said she had been wrong before that early in the game, so while she thought girl, she didnt want to say 100%. Obviously, she was right!

We paid for scans with our daughter shortly before 15 weeks and they were right. This pregnancy, they were correct as well, and I was just over 15 weeks! It was VERY obvious that she was a girl! They should be honest and let u know if they are sure or not! I know the place I go to is very honest and the also offer you to come back if they can't tell!

Good luck it's very exciting! And I was 15 wks 2 days when I went so I say you have a great chance. I noticed a lot of negative feedback from people who hadn't actually had early scans so they just thought it was wrong. So I was scared when I went in that we wouldn't see anything but he was very easy to tell. So don't believe every negative thing you hear! :)

Congrats ladies, this is all such exciting news!!! I will get an ultrasound at my next midwife appointment on 12/3 and I will be 15 weeks and 4 days. Here's hoping that the baby is in good position and we will get a nice clear shot!
