Pregnancy pillow?

Postby Babyj2014 » Sun Dec 01, 2013 1:48 pm

Is anyone using a pregnancy pillow? My hips are starting to hurt while sleeping on my side making me toss and turn all night. I know it is only going to get worse as time goes on. Any suggestions would be great...all of the reviews I've read while trying to purchase one are mixed.

This is my first pregnancy and I am due in June.

I was also wondering about these...I thought about getting a body pillow..but not sure. My hips/butt hurt too, from always sleeping on my sides. I am a belly sleeper, and I obviously can't lay that way anymore, lol. This is also my first pregnancy, and I am due in April....welcome to the second trimester!

I use the Snoogle pregnancy pillow. Its been a life saver for me. I'm a serious stomach sleeper so as soon as I couldn't sleep on my stomach anymore I bought this pillow. You can use it a bunch of different ways. I'm 5'5 and I think anybody shorter than that might have a problem with it being too long, although you can curl it up to meet your needs. It's helped my hips and made sleeping a lot easier for me. Works great for me! :D

I got a Snoogle, and it was a lifesaver! My sacroiliac joint kept going out of alignment, and my lower back and hip were killing me. Granted, the chiropractor did the most good, but the Snoogle helped keep my hips lined up to keep the adjustment longer. Plus it was super cozy.

I had tried just a regular body pillow as well as normal pillows between my knees, but that just drove me nuts. I wasn't able to get through a whole night using those.

DH's cousin said i can have hers, and ur's still brand new. Im getting it this weekend and i cant wait. Since this is my 2nd pregnancy i know how uncomfortable i was especially in my last trimester. This time im putting out alot faster so it will be here just in time.
Ive also heard from other mommies that said it works fantastic.

I just got one as a hand me down. I'm not sure what brand it is, but it is long, skinny, and kind of C-shaped. It has been amazing. My hips were killing me, too. So, I've started laying on my back, but just kind of propping my right side up with the pillow so that I am still kind of lying on my left side, but my weight isn't all on my hip. I have slept so much better ever since. Definitely get one!

I just got a plain old body pillow from Shopko. I'm sure the ones designed for pregnant bodies are better but considering I will probably toss it once the baby comes, I didn't want to spend too much on it. But either way, it's great to have the support between your legs and also under your belly once it gets bigger!

Grrrr...wish I could update but it seems Amazon.com had a shipping error and had to reship my pillow. My lower back is sore but keeps poping. I'm hoping its nothing serious.

Thank you for answering my question before I asked it!
lol
I have been getting terrible hip pains for the last few weeks...and did not know how to alleviate it.
I did not have this with my first 2 pregnancies, that I can remember, anyway!
I just ordered the Snoogle Mini...
I started having the hip pain at approx 18 weeks, some days I limp all day :(
Now 26 wks & 1 day, I NEED help!
Thanks for the advice...keeping my fingers crossed!
Can't wait to try it!

I know the options are crazy these days. I picked the snoogle since it got the best reviews. The price was a bit high for just a pillow but honestly my confort and being pain free is HIGH on my priority list. Just like my stupid maternity pants. I have yet to find any that I like. The snapped at the lady at MotherMaternity telling her I'd pay $100 for the pair of pants I found that fit me. Of course I didnt find one. Not sure if that store is made for curvy girls like me. Sorry venting.
