Wiggle worm?

Postby Whig » Tue Dec 10, 2013 6:55 am

This is my second and you would think that having done this once before, I would be more sure of what's happening in there... nope! I have been feeling some random "pop"s or what feels like finger flicks for a week or so but only sporadically, nothing consistant, and only when I'm sitting down (which is quite often, as I sit at work). It's located in the section between my pubic bone and belly button. Yesterday I was sitting here and all of a sudden, something inside me felt like it was rolling around! It actually surprised me so much, I almost yelped out loud! It lasted for about 20 seconds and then stopped, but for the rest of the day I felt the rolling sensation, along with the little flicks and pokes. Last night I even felt them from the outside with my hand, as did DH, although they were subtle.

At first I assumed this was just uterine spasms or muscle twitches but it literally came and went all day yesterday. It stopped before I went to bed and started up again on my way to work this morning. This is the baby, right? I can't think of what else it would be! I don't remember feeling this much activity with my first until closer to 18 weeks but I have heard sometimes you can feel your second sooner (although I guess I dont know why that would be?)

What am I feeling, ladies? A wiggle worm, or just muscle twitches?

Your muscles are more relaxed the second time around- that and you're more aware of how it feels.

I say wiggle worm! I felt lots of movements early on (around 15 weeks), then they faded away due to my anterior placenta. The placenta has moved and recently I'm starting to feel LOTS of movements!!!!

I noticed the baby moving around 16 weeks as well, although I mostly just felt like it was poking me and my husband definitely couldn't feel it. It definitely sounds like the baby, though. Yay!
