Lower Back Issues?

Postby mexicanchick718 » Fri Dec 13, 2013 4:10 pm

I am having some crazy lower back issues. It pops all the time like im 80 years old. Then it gets sore. My snoogle really helps me wake up without pain. My ob says its normal, but is it really?? Anyone else suffering?

Very normal and also very annoying.

Our bodies are changing to accommodate baby. Which starts by ligaments stretching out and pelvis expanding. And with new weight distribution which causes lower back pain. I unfortunately had sciatica prior to pregnancy (pinching of sciatic nerve in lower back) but because of the weight distribution it has intensified 10x and my leg gives out because of pain :(

All you can do is make sure to stretch your lower back every day 2x a day. And when you have pain make sure to ice. Do NOT heat if you have sharp pains. Ice reduces inflammation. Heat increases blood flow and is better for tense or tight muscles not pain. Heat will only irritated it. ( I am a personal trainer plus have my bachelors in physical therapy so I would not make that up. :P)

Hope that helps!!

I have been having the same problem! Mine isn't sharp pain, it just aches, especially if I do too much bending or sitting in uncomfortabe chairs. I have been taking warm baths every night, and that seems to help my back feel a lot better. I also seem to do well sitting in reclining chairs in the evenings. My sympathies to you!

Definitely normal and things are shifting around to make room hence all the aches&pains that pop up.
My big problem is my sciatic nerve and it runs through my butt cheek and down the back of my leg sometimes. As my pregnancy has progressed I've really had to learn not to push my body too much because I will feel it.
A heating pad and reclining chair have really helped.

My lower back and my BUTT are killing me. My butt gets super sore like I've done a billion squats. Like Taurus said, I think it might be my sciatic nerve.

My hips and back were getting really tight and my butt muscles were cramping. When I talked to my OB she said it is due to the lower part of the spine, which bends in slightly but very early in pregnancy. Even though the shift is slight it can really throw your lower body out of wack and cause achs, pains, sciatic nerve problems etc.
I have been doing yoga twice a week, stretching, and sleeping with a pillow under my hips and it helps a lot.
I hope you find something similar that will work with your pain sweetie.

I sit on a butt donut at work... Silly, but it helps! It takes the pressure off my tailbone and helps me sit up straighter. I've had chronically bad back pain for years and this pillow has really helped me feel better, day and night.

Prenatal massage and prenatal yoga all the way. I was amazed at how much both of these helped me through my last pregnancy, I need to make time to fit these into my schedule this time around as well... Unfortunately the only prenatal yoga class in town is on Monday nights at 6 :30 pm so if I went I would only get to see my girls for a few breif minutes in the mornings as they would be in bed by the time I would get home from yoga....

I will be going for monthly massages. I just found out that my flexible spending accepts massages! So its will all be pre-tax. I plan on getting one in the next two weeks. I did also learn this weekend thay Snoogle is no joke. We took a 13hr road trip up to Washington State and I didnt bring it since it was too bulky, well I was dying of lower back paid. Last night was the best sleep ever. Me and my snoogle...oh yeah and DH on the edge of the bed....haha.
