Big Sister gifts?

Postby Whig » Thu Feb 13, 2014 6:56 am

For any ladies who have older children, what are some ideas I can use as gifts to give my daughter (who will be almost 3) when baby comes? She has a lot of baby dolls already so I would prefer to stay away from that. I'd like her to have some fun things but also things that will occupy her time (during naps, feedings, etc). I want her to feel special.

How about a tricycle? I have a friend who bought two for her girls (twins) when her third child arrived. I think they are four years older than the little one.

I got my first daughter one of those Tag readers and some books. She was just under 3 years old at the time.

Sarahmarie, my daughter already has a Leappad 2 as well, which would have been a great idea! Someone also suggested to me a child-friendly digital camera... You know, one of those heavy duty ones that are made by children's toys companies that can basically get run over without breaking? We have a friend who has one and my daughter loves to play with it. I thought that might be a good idea because she will like it anyway, and she will be able to take pictures of the baby or anything else she wants.

Camera, small photo albums, pop-up books, play doh, floor puzzle, doctor kit she can use with her baby dolls, a dollhouse, or even a kids tent where she can have her own space.
