Elevated risk for Spina Bifida..anyone?

Postby mommy2blc » Thu Mar 13, 2014 9:45 am

I had the blood test done for spina bifida, and they called to tell me that the levels were elevated for this. Then the woman told me that they called the place where I had my ultrasound (the dr. also said this place had a better ultrasound machine than they do and therefore can see more) and the Dr. went back over my films from the ultrasound and that the spine looked fine. I am worrying myself to death and don't have another ultrasound until my 20 week appointment which is in 12 days. Anyone have this happen to them? They told me it was most likely a false positive and that they have seen it before. I am just so scared right now and would be happy with anything you can tell me. Thanks!

I don't have experience with this but just wanted to say that I hope everything turns out ok! I'm sure false positives happen and it sounds like the ultrasound looked good. Try to stay positive and I hope you get reassuring news at your 20 week scan!
