Baking soda gender test

Postby sunmaid » Thu Oct 09, 2014 1:50 pm

Has anyone tried the baking soda gender test? Where you put your pee in a tablespoon of baking soda. If it fizzes, it's a boy and if it does nothing it's a girl.

So I tried it and it fizzed like shaken ginger ale. ALL of my family is hoping for a girl since there have been nothing but boys on both sides. And nearly all old wives tales and the Chinese gender chart says girl.

Anyone do it and it be right? Anyone do it and it be wrong?

I did it 3 different times throughout this pregnancy and all fizzed up for boy. Having a girl. Actually a whole lot of OWTs are saying boy this time around but she is definitely all girl!

A GIRL, lucky!!

I guess your husband is destined to be surrounded by an army of beautiful women!

Hey, weren't you guys doing shettles? Or was this an oops? I actually correctly guessed my BFF's girl because of when they DTD to ovulation. My DH and I DTD every other day probably 5 times around ovulation so I really have no clue if this is a boy or girl.

What did your gut tell you the entire time?

I did it like 15 times. 50% fizz 50% no fizz.

I think it depends how much fruit you have eaten ;-)

It was somewhat accidently shettles as we DTD on my o day, which with shettles is What you do for a boy. Timing has really been debunked though, it seems to have a lot more to do with how many attempts near o you have. 2-3 attempts just before o sways boy and one attempt anytime before o girl. Pull out babies tend I be girls. It turns out a lot was working against me for a boy..
I never really had any intuition that was real, any feeling I had either way I was constantly questioning. Haven't had any dreams like I had frequently with dd.. I had a whole lot of OWTs that pointed boy though! My cravings have been more "boyish", bright yellow pee, bbs not sore, no ms.. You get the picture. I was really hoping to hear boy but honestly had NO clue the whole time, until the scan I had at 15 wks was leaning girl. Then I knew bc I found out with dd at 15 wks too.
Dd is so excited and I can't wait to meet her! I can feel her roll and kick pretty strong now and I'm just enjoying the time I have left with dd as my only baby(:

Yes, baking soda didnt fizz to me most of the time, so WRONG! I still dont understand why fizz means boy, when boy equals alkaline pee, and it should fizz with girl, anyway. Congrats on your girl!
