Waiting for Fatigue to Lift

Postby Wrighton1977 » Fri Jan 02, 2015 3:58 pm

I am 14 weeks and 1 day today. My doctor said that in the second trimester I would start to have more energy. I took a 45 minute nap today, about 3 hours ago, and I am falling asleep in my chair again..sigh. I'm eagerly waiting on that energy to return I'm beginning to wonder if I need to up my iron intake. Anyone else still exhausted in the second trimester?

Well, you're only a day into the second trimester, and it does happen gradually. I know it's tough waiting for it, though! For me, it took probably until 18 weeks or so for the first trimester yuckies (fatigue, vomiting, etc.) to really start to lift. I basically wanted to die for the first three or four months. Now I have a lot of energy compared to the first trimester, although still nothing like normal. I'm staring down the third trimester, so I plan to enjoy it while it lasts.

Mine has really started to ease off. After a meals though i do tend to need a nap, but its not like the first 2 months where literally i needed to sleep in between each thing i did. I hope i get more energy, I would hate to just spend my whole pregnancy tired and in bed. =/ But its best to listen to your body. Always remember that.

I am in week 15 and it has finally started to lift a bit. I still nap when I feel like I can't stay awake at all. I'm trying to enjoy the calm while I have it LOL. This will be our first baby. Beautiful madness will be here before we know it. :hb:

I thought the fatigue might be getting better (I'm 15+2 today)...until today when I slept 9 hours overnight, ate breakfast/watched some TV, then napped for 1.5 hours. Sigh.

Here I am in week 16 and am still not feeling great, but as Honey Bunny mentioned, I find if I get some exercise in I do feel better. I am looking for a good prenatal yoga DVD or streaming program on our Roku, does anyone have any suggestions for prenatal yoga? I got the okay from my OB to start since I had never done yoga before. I've heard it's amazing in preparing for both mental and physical preparation for labor.

Glad I'm not the only one still lacking energy. I have a pretty normal amount of energy and then when 4 or 5pm hits, I'm just DONE. I nap and lay around the rest of the day.
