Feeling really agitated...

Postby marty » Mon Mar 16, 2015 9:50 pm

I am pretty sure this is normal, but I am feeling really agitated these last few weeks. I am starting my 2nd trimester tomorrow and I am wondering what you ladies are doing to help? I am a yogi, I practice all the time but even my meditation is no match for my irritability right now. :(

Sorry you're feeling this way. :( I've had mood swings too but thankfully not too bad. If you're concerned, perhaps you should mention it to your OB. Do you mean you feel anxious or moody?

Have you tried going and getting a day of pampering, or having a girls night out? I know I had a prenatal massage and got my mani + pedi, and usually thats helped clear my mind, and give me alone time also. Remember try to get some alone time specially now since when baby comes it might be harder. Maybe go out and window shop or do some shopping for baby, or also read a book, or do some other soothing activities that keep your mind off things.

It's mostly just my mood. I think maybe I really do need some alone time. I feel a bit like I am agitated because of the people around me, not really my own personal stuff. lol

I've felt the same way for a few weeks. It's definitely not fun! Honey Bunny had a great idea - pampering yourself, this has worked some for me. But I also agree, my agitation has more to do with other people around me that my own issues themselves. Lately people are just really starting to annoy me - I think partially because I've had such a rough time being pregnant - constant nausea, puking, and now I'm getting BAD headaches that are lasting days and won't go away. I'm attributing part of my agitation to not feeling good and it just putting me in a crankier mood - the other part is that I feel like people are constantly bothering me about the pregnancy by asking questions and stuff. I just want to be left alone people!   I guess some women like to be fawned over when pregnant and enjoy the attention from others, I am NOT one of those women.lol I think in part this is why we haven't told many people I'm expecting and I'm getting pretty close to 4 months along. LOL

Marty - I find it hard to meditate being pregnant compared to non-pregnant. I think we need to work on focusing more now than in the past, it's actually quite tricky believe it or not! I've found that meditating in complete silence does NOT work for me anymore. Pre-pregnancy I used to be able to do it not problem, but now I just can't. I find it helps to turn on a Gregorian chant to meditate to. Also - there's special meditation music that is set at 432 hz helps as well, the frequency is said to promote healing and peace - it really works! Maybe that would help you too?
