A bit of everything here. At night, we'll put him in the packnplay next to our bed, and maybe sometimes in the bouncy chair if he's anything like DD. For naps I'll probably put him in his crib just so he gets used to it. I think DD slept in our room until she outgrew the bassinet attachment on the packnplay. We'll do some bed-sharing too since I found last time that nursing while lying on my side was most comfortable. That was great for middle of the night feedings. :)

In a moses basket in our room. With DS, he lasted in that until about 8-10 weeks, I think, then he would constantly knock the sides and wake himself up. then we brought his cot into our room until he was 5 months. (I'm glad we bought a cot rather than a cotbed incidently, because it meant we could fit it in our room and now he has gone into a single bed.)

As for co-sleeping, it scares the life out of me, especially since I am a heavy sleeper. However, I was aware, when I was breastfeeding, of how lightly I slept at that time, I would wake up so easily if he cried and needed a feed. I think there must be some truth in what the midwife told me, that you have an instinct to not roll onto the baby. After an episiotomy last time, sitting up at night to BF was painful, very very painful! So it was a blessing to be able to feed him lying down and sleep a little like that, too. We only did that a few nights, though, because ultimately, I don't trust that "instinct" completely and felt happier to get rid of the risk (no matter how small or big you consider it) of rolling onto him, by having him sleep right next to me but in his moses basket.

I am planning to sleep in my recliner for several weeks while recovering from delivery (and getting past those first few weeks of nursing 24/7) and during that time, Micah will sleep in the bassinet next to me. Once I move back into our bedroom, we will be doing a family bed, assuming it works as well for him as it did for Lil bit. I loved snuggling with her, and REALLY loved not getting out of bed to nurse and change diapers! I just kept a stash of dipes and wipes (and plastic bags) on my nightstand.

Our LO will be sleeping in our room in a PnP, probably for the first year. I was thinking more until they are sleeping through the night- then would be sharing a room with DSS in their crib- but DH told me he never slept at all when DSS was a baby becasue he was up everytime he moved. He said he would feel better if the baby slept in our room. But we will see. We are limited on room so when the kiddo isn't in our room it will be sharing a room with DSS. I am just not big on the idea of a family bed. I feel like the bed in hubby's and mine and the kiddos have their own. That's the line. So I guess DH and I have different ideas and we will see what happens.

Jeffrey will be in a bassinet right next to our bed, probably for the first 3 or 4 months. We'll play this by ear of course. Then he'll move into his nursery where he'll sleep in his crib. :)

We use a cradle in our bedroom for the first couple of months. With DD, she'd start the night in the cradle and then end up in bed with me sometime in the middle of the night. She always slept better pressed up against a body. she even tried to nurse from her father a few times!!! We transitioned her to a crib in the nursery around 3 months, but inevitably I got tired of getting up to feed her, so she'd end up back in the bed with me! Incidentally, the only way she would nap during the day was next to me in the bed OR in the swing. Once she could roll over and sleep on her belly, she started sleeping longer stretches. She's still a tummy sleeper!

we will be getting an arms reach co sleeper that hooks on to the bed. Once the baby isnt nursing through the night so much she will be moved into her crib.

Mason co slept (not by choice) until he was 10 weeks ... then he went into his crib. Hopefully my little lady will be like that too except she will sleep in the co sleeper.> Mason HATED the bassinet..

We're putting the bassinet in our room. The paranoia I would have with co-sleeping in the same bed, is not worth it. I did look at those co-sleepers but DH and I like our own space. :D

I just got a bassinet to keep in our bedroom until she grows out of it. Also, we have a little sleeper for in the bed (I'm a REALLY light sleeper, so I'm not worried about rolling on her.) I don't want to use it, but it's an option.

We havent entirely decided on this yet. We have the bassinet in our bedroom, but he will have his crib in the nursery. We are also planning on getting a comfortable chair in his room for nighttime feedings.
MY DH is a super light sleeper and couldnt sleep with our first son in our room so we arent sure he will be able to sleep with this one in there either.

LOL... We planned on having James sleep in the nice Arms Reach co-sleeper we purchased but he HATED IT! He lasted a little longer in the bouncy seat. We actually found an Amby bed on craigslist for $100 and he has been sleeping in that now. He seems to be liking it! I got the longest stretch of sleep this evening actually! 4 hours so far! I should get the heck of the computer and go to sleep!

Anyway, we plan on letting him sleep in the Amby Bed right next to our bed and also co-sleeping in our bed although that makes me nervous. I do love laying down and nursing though. Hopefully he will be ready to transition into his crib in a few months like Lauren did.

I say play it by ear girls! We all like to plan ahead but the baby makes the rules!

My youngest slept in my bed until he was 4 months old. He was easier to feed and change.
