Exercise during the Third Trimester

Postby teenie » Sat Jun 19, 2010 6:04 am

I am not in the third trimester yet with this pregnancy...but I thought this article was interesting.

With my first 2 I exercised all the way till almost the end (with some periods of rest when I was not feeling well or on temp bed rest)
But- I truly believe that exercising helped me have 2 easy labors.
I understand that even with exercise you still can have a rough labor...but some say it helps.
Either way it makes me feel better and gives me more energy.

So- if you have a healthy pregnancy and feel well enough....this article about exercise in the third trimester is helpful.

I try but I have had a hard time sticking to any sort of routine this whole time. I have been trying to get in regular walks and some arm exercises here and there...

Yep! I am still getting up early at least 4-5times a week to hit the gym.. Definitely not doing the same routine that I had been, but I feel so much better after doing something good for myself!

I walk for 30-45 minutes at least 5 times a week, sometimes every day. I also get a lot of walking in my daily routine in addition to that set time for walking. I lift weights three times a week and I do yoga on Saturdays. Exercise makes me feel better!

I'm not saying it's easy. My routine is very different than non-pregnant, but it's worth it.

I voted yes, I don`t excercise as such...I do an awful lot of walking...and haven`t really slowed down since being preggo.

I put yes...I walk my DD to school and back everyday, so while it's not something I want to do by choice, it's keeping me going. It absolutely wears me out, though! I'm to the point now where I barely get anything done during the day after the AM walk and I'm really slowing down...some days, I feel like snails pass me. I am pretty stinking huge, though...30 weeks on Tuesday and measuring about 5 weeks ahead! I don't know how twin+ mommies do it!

I put no, only because I am not doing any real set excersise but I am running around after 5 kids but I think thats just more an active lifestyle. I dont think I could do a session but I can vacuum and tidy up all day long!!! :D
