3rd baby?

Postby hls268 » Fri Jan 07, 2011 10:32 am

I am wondering if this 3rd baby will come early like my previous 2. Anyone have experience with this? I had my 1st dd at 36 weeks via c-section and dd #2 at 38 weeks via c-section. Any thoughts?

My maternal fetal medicine specialist did say that because I had my 3rd at 37 weeks to expect this one between 36-37 weeks as well. HTH! :)

My first was one day late, my second was five days early, and my third was ten days early. I'm expecting this one around the same time as my last. But ya never know!!

DS1: waters broke at 35w5d and I had him at 37w2d.
DS2: pre term labour at 27weeks but with medication he stayed put until c-sec at 39weeks!
DD: looks like she's staying put so far until c-sec at 39weeks

So mine have all been completely different!

I keep asking that same question! Not really getting a answer though..same old babies have their own time line thing..2 week margin of error for dating..anyways DS#1 came at 39weeks and DS#2 came at 38weeks..The part that makes me nervous is DS#2 was almost a full pound bigger than DS#1 on top of being earlier!

#1 at 41 wks
#2 at 39 wks
#3 at 36 wks
#4 at 34 wks

so each of mine came earlier :) But #3 and #4 my water broke early. All were inductions.

I've been wondering this too.. my water broke with both of my babies spontaniously.

DD - 37 weeks
DS - 36 weeks
DD -??? sometime between 36 & 37 most likely.

It was recently explained to me that for people whose water breaks spontaniously its most likely the result of bacteria, some peoples waters are extremely sensative to it, so once you start to dialate within 2 weeks ish your water gives out? I am anxious to see what happens this time! both my kids were healthy as could be at 36 and 37, DD2 is a fertility treatment baby so there is not much of an error window, maybe 1 or 2 days lol?

I think it just depends on the baby and the woman. It seems that everyone I know, goes later with consecutive babies, and earliest with their firsts. Kinda weird. Not me though. LOL

DD1 - 40w2d induced low waters
DD2 - 39w4d induced decels
DD3 - 40w1d natural

So I'm not expecting to go early this time either. But ya just never know!

Saap hmm maybe for some not for me though. My 2DD and 3DD I was 3CM at me 36wk appt. and was 4Cm upon arrival at the hospital for both. I've never had my water break sponteously before. The dr.'s always had to do it. Interesting about the bacteria.

I also think it depneds on the baby and momma and I really think the momma's activity level factors greatly in this.
1DD- 40w2d went into labor on her EDD but had her 2 days later(my 39w appt. no dialation)
2DD-40w induced on my EDD for low fluid(36w appt 3CM 75% effaced upon arrival for induction I was 4Cm not in labor) I think all the laying around on the couch kept her baking.
3DD-38w went into labor naturally(I was scrubbing floors on my hands and knees daily and really active. I think this is why I went into labor sooner with her.

My first was early, my second the day before induction but the third just didn't want to come out he was late and induced so you just don't know. All I know is that for me once I get to 5 IRS fast but other than that I'll just be waiting it out.

My first was 2 days before dd , my second was 2 days past dd...both times my water broke. My dr tells me that with each kid you go later rather then sooner...don't know why. hope this one stays there till the end :)

One of the OBs at my practice told me that in her 20 years of delivering babies she's definitely noticed a trend of 3rd time moms going later, no matter what the first two babies did.

I told her that my waters broke at 38 and 37 weeks with no other labor signs and she said "Guess what? Exact same for me! My third was born at 41+1."

I told her it wasn't very nice to tell me that and that she should have lied :)
