How long after dropping is labor?

Baby is taking up all available space in your belly. Baby showers and buying things for the nursery are on your mind. Childbirth classes, baby will be here before you know it!

How long after dropping is labor?

Postby Julienurse » Mon Feb 14, 2011 5:42 pm

Hi ladies,

This is our first baby and we are due on March 29( six weeks and 1 day away). Over the weekend I think I dropped significantly. I can tell cause I can breath again :D !!!

I'm a little worried this means she's on her way.....like now! First of all, I know she'd be ok born six weeks early but there can be more complications. Scary enough. Oh, and I'm NOT READY!!!!! I mean I'm really not ready!

So my question is, how long after you dropped did you have your first baby?

Thanks for your input, my co-workers do nothing but panic me!!

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Dropping never seemed to indicate labor for me. I always dropped a good month before the baby came.

Thanks for your replies! I know baby Ava will be arriving when ever SHE feels like it, but it's good to hear someone say I might have a few weeks left! At the very least this has been a pretty good reminder to get my house in order and ready for baby!

Looking forward to meeting our little angel, finally!!!

With DS I didn't drop until I was in labor which was induced at 41+1. DD dropped at 34 weeks and I was dilated to 3, she didn't come until 40+6 when I was induced. And with this LO, she was dropped at 36+5 and I'm going to be induced on Monday at 41 weeks.

Hope that helps!! :)

With LO, I started dropping significantly right around the 37 week mark, and I had him just over 2 weeks later, at 39 weeks and 2 days.
