What are the signs of preeclampsia? I went to the drs this morning with swelling of hands and feet and high bp. The bp did come down and I am home now but still swollen. I am starting with a headache over my eyes and am exhausted now. Am I fine?

It's hard to say, here are some symptoms
With more severe preeclampsia, you may experience other symptoms. Call your caregiver immediately if you have any of these warning signs:

* Severe or persistent headache
* Vision changes, including double vision, blurred vision, seeing spots or flashing lights, sensitivity to light, or temporary loss of vision
* Intense pain or tenderness in your upper abdomen
* Nausea and vomiting

Symptoms can vary from woman to woman, and preeclampsia can occur without any obvious symptoms, particularly in the early stages.

I've had a lot of those symptoms throughout all of my pregnancies and only once had pre-e. In my experience the diagnosis is made when there is protein in the urine(they would have checked at your appt) and if your BP remains high.

Call your OB and see what they say. You should always call and report vision changes. The swelling alone means nothing. That's why high bp needs to come along with it for pre-e diagnosis. Def always consult with your OB.

I am pretty sure for Pre-E you must have high BP and also protein in the urine.. if both of those are ok.. then the other symptoms probably aren't pre-e related but its good to let your doctor know either way.
