O negative - Rhogam Shot anyone?

Postby megan33 » Sun Apr 03, 2011 1:40 pm

I just had my Rhogam shot at 28 weeks and since then I have been having some serious shooting muscle pain around the area making it really difficult to walk.....anyone who has experienced this? My fear is that the nurse nicked my sciatic nerve. The weather is finally getting nice here so I hope this is temporary as I would love to get outside for a walk!

Thanks,
Megan

I had the shot with my pregnancy with DS and with a miscarriage last year and didn't have any problems with it. However, I did progesterone injections for nearly 7 wks with my IVF and FET and there were several times DH hit a nerve and caused a shooting pain down my leg. There were a few times I could barely walk for a few days. It always went away. I'm sure it will be fine in a couple of days, if not I would call your OB and let them know!

I had 2 have 3 different shots during my pregnancies. When i M/c in october...they gave it to me as a procaution, and i got prego the next cycle with lily and i had to recieve it twice.. once in early pregnancy and once right before she was born and each time it made it feel like my hip was on fire!! made my leg very stiff and achey so i feel your pain!! i think t depends on where the shoot you at... if it hurts more than normal

yes, my bottom was very sore for a few days after the shot with my last pregnancy. I get this shot again in 3 weeks so I'm certain it will hurt as well. It does go away.

I just had mine two weeks ago, but didn't have the shooting pain down my leg, just was very sore at the injection site and stiff for a day or two. I hope it goes away for you soon, if not I'd call your OB.

My midwife very kindly did mine in the top of my right arm. she warned me the actual injection of the liquid itself would be rather unpleasent which it was but I suffered nothing afterwards. I'm lucky as she's seriously good with needles. My 34 week shot is being done by another woman. I shall make sure she puts it in the same place.
Kyle James finally arrived 26/06/2011 6 lbs 3oz by emergency C section. xx

Was your weight on the leg of the injection site when you got your shot? That could make a difference too.
