GD ladies ?

Postby mamadru10 » Thu Aug 30, 2012 1:05 pm

I dunno the first thing about it, but got a call this morning telling me that my one hour was 181! I was told that with numbers that high they were not expecting a good outcome for the 3 hour test. What can anyone tell me about GD and what were your numbers for the 1 hour?

I also failed my one hour, with a 143. My OB passes up to a 140. I just took the 3 hour test yesterday (it was fine) and I'm anxiously waiting to hear back with the results.

Just for anyone concerned, GD is unrelated to your weight and diet. My doctor told me that just because I'm tall, thin, eat well and exercise, I could still end up having GD. Really hoping I don't though!

I failed my 1-hour with a 180. My doc wanted to send me straight to the endocrinologist. However, I pointed out that I failed my 1-hour with my last pregnancy by a very large amount, and then passed the 3-hour test. So, she is letting me take the 3-hour. I'm going on Friday morning...very nervous!!

I didn't pass or fail the 3 hour I guess from the way it was worded to me. I was told that it takes my body a bit longer to trigger the release of insulin than normal... so I'm supposed to try and avoid sugars if possible, or at least try to reduce my intake. I dont completely understand considering were not big on processed foods, not alot of fast food and I don't eat sweets at all, I just have my one cup of coffee in the morning with about a teaspoon of sugar, other than that I stay away as much ass I possibly can.
