Anyone experiencing PUPPS?

Postby dove0813 » Sat Jan 26, 2013 5:56 pm

My belly is itching like crazy since 3rd trimester started. OB gave me prescription steroid cream. What is anyone else using to
help cope with this? I heard great comments about Grandpas Pine Tar Soap, and have been using that for about a week, but so far, no results from it.

i'm lurking in the 3rd trimester forum. :) i'm sorry you're going through this! Ugh. i have not experienced PUPPS but i have had very itchy skin. i find that oatmeal body wash works really well (after a few days of use it "kicks in") . I actually have been using the aveeno oatmeal baby wash (becuase it is extra gentle) and i love it. good luck!

PUPPS is caused by an overworked liver. So liver remedies like taking Dandelion leaf or milk thistle, nettle tea and fresh lemon juice would help. See link: http://www.mothering.com/community/t/14 ... -for-pupps

This woman had a lot of success from drinking nettle tea, which is perfectly safe during pregnancy.
