Discharge...TMI

Postby jenn_rn » Mon Sep 02, 2013 6:08 pm

Hey ladies,
Just wanted to see if anyone has had any similar experiences. Yesterday morning after sex with DH, I started having clear watery discharge. It lasted all day, with minimal contractions. When I was still having the discharge this morning I called my OB who had me go in and get checked. It wasn't amniotic fluid, and they even checked my fluid levels to make sure everything was okay. It was and I went home. Now, however, I'm still have a large amount of this clear watery discharge. I've soaked through a couple pads today. Does anyone else have this discharge? And have you had a lot of it? Is this normal?
Thanks for any input.

Hey if you're soaking pads I would go back and be retested. Alittle bit of watery discharge is normal as the cervix thins out weeks before labor starts in combination of our hormones producing an excess of discharge anyways. Did they check for urine too?

I found this online, and sounds common. Acouple posters ended up having their babies shortly afterwards. Good luck to you! :)

It's normal for a lot of women to have increased watery/milky discharge during pregnancy (leukorrhea), but it usually happens throughout pregnancy and doesn't come on so suddenly. I'd maybe see if they can test again for the amniotic fluid?

I was just about to reply to this, but then remembered seeing a post from Jenn in the Sept DDC...she had her baby boy yesterday! So I guess whatever the fluid was, it was time! Congrats, Jenn!

Thanks Megan, I was just coming in to update this. My baby boy was born at 3:03pm yesterday (9/3/2013). He's doing well. Though he had to spend a few hours in the NICU yesterday, his respiratory drive wasn't so great. They were thinking it may have been due to not knowing when my water actually broke.
