its not possible right

Fourth you ask? Your body is still full of pregnancy hormones as you adjust to life sleep-deprived with your new baby outside your womb.

Its not possible to excusivly breastfeed and get your period at 5 weeks pp is it? My pp bleeding was down to a very watery orange color for the past week now its red, well deep pink. We bf like every 2 hrs around the clock. My nipples were very sore the last few days but now that the bleeding has started they are 100% fine. What up with that?!!!! It couldn't be af could it? 8O

It is possible - bummer if it is! That is one of the things I have been grateful for with BFing... no period. Unfortunately some women get their periods despite breast feeding.

Totally possible. I am 3 months PP and exclusively BF. I have had my period twice. :( I have 4 children and BF all of them - never had a break from AF! :( Not one of the lucky ones. My SIL has 4 children as well. As long as she was BF, she didn't get her AF. She went 14 mo w/o getting her period. I guess we are all different!

Usually under 6 weeks is still considered lochia. I'd just keep an eye on it.

That said, I've never gone more than 10 months without my period, and even while I was TRIandem nursing (that's right, THREE nurslings)...I still got it back at 12 weeks PP. We always nurse around the clock, on demand, cosleep, no solids until 8ish months, etc, and I still can't pass 10 months. And mine always comes back ovulatory, right off the bat.
