Which contraception?

Fourth you ask? Your body is still full of pregnancy hormones as you adjust to life sleep-deprived with your new baby outside your womb.

Which contraception?

Postby angel23 » Mon Nov 23, 2009 8:06 am

Hiya Ladies,

My husband and I have decided that we're going to wait three years til we try for our next baby (I'm in University and it wouldnt be financially practical). So now I face a dilemma. Which contraception?

I've been on the pill for 11years (except when ttc-ing) and I had no problems conceiving when I cam off of it. I came off the pill in March 2008 and I got my BFP three weeks later! So my concern now is that I want something like the implant or injection but I want to know if it will effect ttc-ing when I come off it in three years.

Basically - I want to literally stop taking contraception in July 2012 (woah, that seems ages away!) and conceive as quick as usual (I have really sucky, awful pregnancies so it's not all plain-sailing).

Which contraceptions have you experiecned and how long did it take you to conceive when you came off them. I'm particularly intersted in knowing about the injection and the arm implant.

Thank you, I know this is a bit of an obscure post, but my husband is hassling me to start taking contraception and I'm relunctant to go back on the pill after being on it for nearly 12years as it is. But I don't want to have the implant, for example, and then come off of it in three years and have a lot of trouble conceiving. I know I could have problems conceiving for many other reasons - I'm just interested to know how long it took you guys.

Thank you :)

Kerrie

Just as a point of interest for you - I conceived my first babby (mmc at 14wks) within a month, my second angel within a month and my son within three weeks. So, what I'm trying to explain is that my daughter's quick conception wasn't a freak occurence, it tends to be that quick for me. But before you hate me 8O , I do have horrendous pregnancies!! xxxxx
