Working out

Postby 1st_timemom » Sun Nov 29, 2009 9:20 pm

Hi girls. Just wondering when did you guys start working out pp? Did your breast leak? If you had a C/S, where you sore at the incision? Did you get a breast infection (from the leaking and sweating)...I'm a bit worried about that one...? What was your time frame and what excercises did you do?

Thanks. I am 5 weeks pp and ready to get started.

I went back at 6 weeks pp. I started off just on the treadmill around 3.5 mph with no incline for 35 minutes and some ab work too (total workout time 40-45 minutes). I've slowly increased my workouts to 4 mph. I never had a problem with leaking at the gym (only happened to me when I was engorged from longer hours without breastfeeding). I just got a larger size sports bra and was ok. I've never had a breast infection. I do always change right away once I get home. I had a vaginal birth so sorry I can't help with the C-sec. Oh, and make sure to stay well hydrated when you're working out, I always have a bottle of water with me. :)

I started working out at 6 weeks PP.I only did abdominal excercises,my incision stopped hurting at 2 weeks PP.I didn't leak anymore than i normally did.I've never heard of getting an infection from excercising. If you feel up to it then just start slowly :)

i had a c/s too and i say go with your instinct and do what you feel is comfortable. i am just walking and that helps tighten your belly muscle. i am dtill have pulling and burning sensations but i walk through or just rest for the rest of the day.
