Blues?

Fourth you ask? Your body is still full of pregnancy hormones as you adjust to life sleep-deprived with your new baby outside your womb.

Blues?

Postby illbeyourpride » Sun Dec 20, 2009 3:12 am

So I'm 4 days postpartum and in general feel pretty good. BF'ing is finally getting doable, and my baby is amazing, but I just can't stop crying!

I have this overwhelming sadness because my LO is going to grow up. I know it sounds bizarre, but I just want him to be this way forever.

I'm also having a difficult time even thinking of going back to work, which I have to because we couldn't afford me doing anything else. I keep telling myself that 12 weeks is a long time from now, but it feels like tomorrow. :?

Anyone else go through this? I know a lot of it (all of it) is hormones, but how long does it last?

I'm right there with you! The weepiness is starting to disappear now at 16 days postpartum, but I have a feeling we have a long way to go.

I went through it and had all of the feelings you are talking about. It was off and on for a month or so. I know that it was hormones and also lack of sleep. I'm not sure that there's anything to say except that what you're going through is totally normal.

Sounds normal. Its hormones. If you have feelings for longer then 4 weeks though you might wanna see your doc. Good luck.

definitely normal - especially at only 4 days pp! i was such a mess at 4 days pp that i don't even remember it! LOL ... it's pretty normal for the baby blues to last 3-4 weeks but i agree with the PP that if it goes much past that i would consult your OB. just try to take it easy as much as possible - remember you need to recoop physically, emotionally and mentally so don't be too hard on yourself!

i actually cried every single day for about 3-4 weeks when i would get out of the shower and see my non-pregnant self in the mirror! 8O i had this beautiful little girl right in the next room but all i could think was "OMG i miss being pregnant so much!!" LOL ... hang in there momma!
