poor DD! she has had BMs everyday since she was born. Then she didnt go from mon-wed. so i started keeping track...since wed (30th) she has not pooped! Everything i read says this could be totally normal. i should have known better. i called the pedi after DD had a SERIOUS pain cry ... she was purple and sweaty instantly. it scared me half to death. i thought it might be her bowels, but was not sure. (she also just recently started not wanting to bend at the waist while burping..she would cry).

So pedi said to use a qtip with ky and put it in her bottom about an inch....HOLY MOTHERLOAD!! No WONDER she was so upset! Her poop was thicker/sticker than normal. Not sure if i have caused this from diet? she is totallt passed out now, and i dont blame her :(

I have gone through poo issues with both my children. With my daughter, the GI specialist had me put 1ml to 5ml of cherry flavored milk of magnesa in her bottle every morning to releive some of the issue. We started out with 1ml and then increased it after a day until she went. I think eventually at 3ml she went and that's were we stopped. Every AM she got 3ml and she was like clockwork. We did this for like 2 months I recall and then her digestive track was developed enough we were able to stop. Now, even at 21 months, she occassionally has problems but we use juice (not diluted) to get her stimulated.

Poor baby. Kaidence has the same problem. She is on Neocate because of MSPI and it can make her constipated. She hasn't gone in almost two days. We too give her milk of magnesa. Usually she poops once a day.
