C Section Belly .. after twins

Postby Twinklebug » Tue Mar 30, 2010 12:00 pm

Okay, this is a question for all my fellow C section and/or multiple mamas. It's been 6 weeks, and my belly is still pretty out there. I look like I am maybe 4 months pregnant. I have already been to my OB, and he said that everything looks good, but since I had twins, it may take a little longer to go down than a typical single pregnancy. He said it should go down by mid-summer !?! But I am not loving this gut ! LOL  I have an interview for a new job next week and have nothing to wear that does not make me look like I am still preggers!!

Anyone want to share their experience about how long it took their C section belly to go down? Any hints on ways to hide it? I need some inspiration!

I was back to my pre-preg weight at 6 weeks PP. But I still looked 4-5 months pregnant, as you say. Depressing!

By 3 months, I had a hideable pooch.

By 6 months, my waist was mostly back, and I wore a bikini on vacation. I had to be more conscious of keeping some tension in my midsection, but overall not too bad.

At 10-ish months PP, my belly is *still* not as flat as it was before, but it is maybe 90%. I still have a bit of fluff right around my belly button that is kind of squishy, a bit of extra skin I think.

You might try a belly band for your interview, or wear two pairs of control top hose (cut the legs off one). Either of these should get things smoother for under your suit. I feel you! No fun!

i didnt have a sections but i did have a big ol pooch until i used an abdominal binder, i sware that is the only reason my belly is flat today because it was out there, and i also have diastasis, so i assumed i might always look preggo w/o surgery but the binder has helped reduce that to hardly nothing to. i had taken out all of my baby doll flowy tops, tunics and non fitted dresses in preperation, as everything else i own is form fitting, so try those and it will go down, u just had twins via section whic does cause swelling so hang in there. also drink some RRL tea. i did for weeks and my uterus did seem to contract and go down faster then expected or aka normal

gl its temporary

Thanks ladies ! It is going down a bit more-although I do still feel pretty uncomfortable about it. I also bought a new binder and a camisol top which sucks it in quite nicely. Those should do the trick for now! I am happy the weather is getting nicer so I can get out and walk -I'm sure losing the rest of my baby weight will help it to shrink too :? LOL

Ugh I had a section too and I still look 5 months preggo. It's so bad that I actually bought a new pair of cute maternity jeans because I've got a feeling I'll still be wearing them for a while! There is no way I'm putting on a pair of regular jeans to have my flabby gut hang over

my belly has gone down really well, now i only look 3 months pg,lol, anyway so i just got some denim jeggings, the comfort and style of jeans, with the stretch of leggings, perfect for the in between stage,i also think i would be more comfortable in maternity, but its that word that puts me off,im not pregnant so i want to wear non maternity clothes,i think i might treat myself to a sexy new bra too, just to boost my confidence??

Mrs martin and dueinapril, your babies are adorable! Good ideas about the sexy new bra and the new maternity jeans. I am still wearing my super big maternity jeans but may buy a new pair of smaller ones. No one tells you about the leftover stomach flab before you have a section-I feel that should be included in the information we are provided beforehand ! LOL
