Painful sex? (xposted July)

Fourth you ask? Your body is still full of pregnancy hormones as you adjust to life sleep-deprived with your new baby outside your womb.

Painful sex? (xposted July)

Postby redcharlotte » Mon Sep 06, 2010 7:10 pm

Hey ladies, we tried to DTD today and we stopped because it was painful. Not excruciating pain, but it felt very uncomfortable, like if we had continued I felt it may have started to really hurt. Not sure how else to describe it other than the lower portion of the canal felt like it was getting rubbed raw :(

I'm still bleeding slightly, and I'm just six weeks post-partum today. Does anyone have any advice? Tips? Similar story? It was nice to re-connect, if briefly, with DH sexually, but my nipples also hurt when he was on top of me (even with my bra and pads on.) Ugh.

I am a little more than 3 weeks post c section and I dtd yesterday. The only way I can describe it for me was it felt like I was almost virginal again. I could not get him in all the way...tmi, I know, but true. It seems odd to me since I did not have my dd vaginally and did not even progress any further than 1cm and 70% effaced before we moved to a section ( I went such a long period of time with no progress).

Did you feel almost virginal? Did you have a section? Hope you don't mind my asking!

ive not tried dtd yet but I have read other posts about using lubes as it can be "dry" down there due to hormones etc getting back to normal. Maybe try that to help ease any friction that might be going on. and as for the nipples being sore maybe try out some new positions until they are a little less sensitive?

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies! Yes, I did feel virginal! In fact, we successfully had on Wednesday and DH said he treated me like he would a virgin: gentle, slow, lots of lube. LOL!! TMI, I'm sure, but hey, I'm just glad to be back in the :) (Oh, I gave birth lly and had only a 1st degree tear.)
