postpartum bleeding (possible tmi)

Postby sunnib » Wed Feb 16, 2011 4:54 pm

Its been 16 days since Zander was born and I am still bleeding bright red and have lots of smallish blood clots and every few days will have a bigger one thats maybe golf ball size. The bleeding has been the same color and amount since about 4-6 days postpartum, should it be tappering off soon??

Most of the time I am just in the house laying around, doing light house cleaning and cooking. I have carried him in his car seat down the stairs a few times and went shopping twice for a long period of time.

When BF'ing you will bleed much much longer. I had red bleeding for 6 weeks and red spotting till 8 weeks after delivery. I didn't have any big clots but other mommas here have and it's been normal. So I say normal :D

I'm so glad to read this. Online it was saying that it should stop being bright red by the end of a week or so! I have had bright red bleeding since i gave birth. The amount has lessened, but I was starting to worry something was wrong.

Its been 2.5 weeks since Diego was born and I am still with bright red bleeding, it kind of went away for a day or two and then it came back :? i notice is more when i walk a lot around the house.

I hope it goes away soon because the pads cause discomfort in the stitches.
