Things Returning to Normal Down There...

Postby princess_sam » Sun Oct 30, 2011 10:05 pm

How long did it take you ladies that have had vaginal births for it to go back to normal down there? Does it ever go 100% back to normal?

I'm almost 5 wks pp, and things look pretty good down there, except for the urethra area looks a bit bigger than before (well to be honest I don't remember seeing it really, before), and the opening of the vagina seems to be more open. I feel like I can see what's inside. When does that go away? I only had a small tear, not even classified as a first degree, one small stitch.

Also, did you or DH notice any differences when you dtd afterwards?

I have my check up with my dr in a week, and I'm hoping he says everything is normal looking, but it's stressing me out a teeny bit right now.

I still haven't worked up the guts to look down there after a third-degree tear, but I haven't been able to dtd successfully yet. :( Otherwise I feel normal.

I had an episiotomy and im 6 months PP. It definitely doesn't look the same but it started feeling 90% how it did when I was about 5 months PP.

Voted 8 weeks or longer but I'm not sure. Things just never have been quite the same down there. I had a 2nd degree tear which is just fine now, though.

DTD started off painful and discouraging, but now it's better than it was before having LO! And as far as the vaginal opening, etc, mine is stretched out (and with good reason, too, LOL) and probably will never be quite the way it was before.

I did tons of Kegels while pregnant, to prepare, so I think that helped the muscles up inside.

i don't think that it ever goes back to what it was. You can do kegal exercises to tighten things up down there. I didn't look for a long time i was too afraid too!
