Fourth you ask? Your body is still full of pregnancy hormones as you adjust to life sleep-deprived with your new baby outside your womb.

So, my little boy had crazy amounts of hiccups in utero. Now he's about 12 days old and the poor little guy hiccups for about 5 minutes after every feeding. He doesn't have reflux or anything of the sort. He eats like a champ, never spits up, and he burps just fine. Should I be worried, or is he just a hiccupy baby?

mine hiccups a lot too. sometimes after feeding and sometimes at random. I just feed him a little more. Lately I give him a little bit of water out of the bottle. My mom said something about babies needing water... I don't know...

It is perfectly normal for babies to have hiccups. My first baby had them after every feeding and they would last for at least 7 minutes. My newborn has them not that frequently, but still has them. I usually hold my baby during hiccups and pat back. You can get some Gripe water for your Lo it is suppose to help with hiccups and gas.

My pediatrician told me that babies that have hiccups often in utero will continue the trend when they are born. And she said it's nothing at all to worry about

Henry has hiccups once a day.

My DD was a very hiccupy little unborn baby and she had hiccups all the time when she was a newborn! She rarely gets them now (she's 5 months). They hardly ever seemed to bother her except when they were extremely strong.
Also, congrats on your son, Kara! Haven't been on for a while! Glad to see he is here and soooo beautiful!

Mine had the hiccups in utero shortly after I ate and she now has them shortly after her feedings. I feel bad because some of them are quite strong. Where do you get gripe water- I've heard of it before. Do you just give then the water itself or mix it with formula?

You can get gripe water just about anywhere. I get mine at CVS, and it's Mommy's Bliss brand. I suppose you could mix it up with breast milk or formula but I just give it to her straight. She likes having a bit of a different taste in her mouth!

I am so glad to hear my lo isn't the only one who gets hiccups daily. He did get hiccups daily in utero and now still does.
