Postby nessifly » Thu Jan 01, 2009 1:02 pm

ok, after bleeding now for going on 3 weeks, i am REALLY getting that "not so fresh feeling" :(

i am SICK of wearing pads, i haven't shaved down there b/c i'm afraid to w/ stitches, and now my lochia isn't red, but a really disgusting yellowish orangish color (i'm sorry, i warned you TMI)

i was never really into douching, but i feel SO GROSS!!

are we allowed to douche? i am 99% sure the answer is no :(

and if i'm not, how can i feel less disgusting about my lady parts??? :( i am sick of this!!

on my discharge list the hospital gave me it said No douching (never really done it anyways) so its strictly water cleaning. I think its just one of those times we have to deal with feeling gross. I'm really missing my Summers Eve wash for "down there".

Today was my 1st day without wearing any sanitary towels, it's just about stopped now - i must get the odd bit every couple of days or so, but not anything to warrant wearing anything for.

To be honest i'm really pleased it's finished at almost 4 weeks, with DD#1 it was 6 weeks, but not sure if that had anything to do with her being my 1st.

Hang in there hun, it will let up soon i'm sure. :)

could you use a little diaper rash cream on the area? after wearing pads for so long, your skin is probably a mess. if it's safe for the baby, i am thinking it might make you feel a little better at least externally. i've only been wearing a pad for 8 days so mine hasn't gotten to that point yet 8O

Did you get one of those "peri" bottles while you were in the hospital? I used mine in the hospital to help clean down there and continued to use it at home. Not a perfect solution, but will help a little.

Oh I feel your pain ness!

My bleeding has turned from red to the same as yours... it's disgusting, huh!? I hate it too! The dang pads are driving me up the freaking wall! I change it all the time because even though I'm not even close to filling it - it's just the smell of that lochia that grosses me out!

I use the peri bottle all the time just to feel a little cleaner, even though I really don't need it for pain anymore.

The joys of motherhood :)

Oh and Luke is holding his head up too! He still gets a little floppy but I am amazed at how strong he is! And ness, our little guys have the same outfit (the one in your siggy) - I love the "later gator" on the feet! haha! (at least I think they are the same outfit  )

ugh, i totally feel you! i'm 4 weeks PP already, and my lochia is pretty much gone, but there just enough to wear a panty liner. i feel SO unfresh all the time down there too, and the odor of it is just so gross...sorry, tmi! (if there even can be tmi on these boards anymore...haha.)

just within the last week or so i've been using a mild soap on a washcloth to dab and semi-rub my "area" in the shower.

i just shaved for the first time last night too. not too close where my stitches are, but i found that helped me feel a little more fresh!

i know its sooo nasty. i can't wait until its just GONE!

I definitely recommend shaving or trimming at least. I have a bikini trimmer thing that cuts the hair super short and I felt SOO much better after I did it. Now that my bleeding is very light, I switched to scented panty liners and that has helped also.

omg girls, i am SO glad i am not the only one noticing an odor! i didn't want to ask, b/c i felt so gross about it, but WHEW!

susi - tonight leo lifted his head, and then turned it 90 degrees right, then 90 degrees left w/o it flopping once! dh and i were like HOLY CRAP!! :D

angie - yep, same cute outfit! i love it!! :)

i went ahead tonight and took a loooong shower and soaped it up really good down there, and then trimmed AND shaved. then i took a look in the mirror. i can't believe it - everything looks back to normal!!

now if only i could ditch these pads for good. :?

Are you really not supposed to use summer's eve? I used it all the time when i was recovering with ds. Soap burned so summer's eve worked fine. I never had a problem or got an infection or anything?
