Does anyone use a cleaning service?

Postby LaraE » Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:16 am

I'm going to get an estimate on how much it would cost me to have someone come in once every two weeks to clean. I work full time, my DF is a Family Medicine resident (1st yr) and he works crazy hours. I have a 12 yr old son and keeping up with everything is hard. I find that the things I can't keep up with are cleaning stuff like dusting, cleaning bathroom floors, stuff like that. I work hard to keep up with laundry each week, i do it on Thursdays (i work from home Thurs) and I do it all weekend. Everything else I try to keep clean on a daily basis but it's really difficult. Now, we're expecting a baby in Sept so I know it's going to be even harder to keep up with everything then too.

Do you think the extra cost is worth it?

I paid my MIL to clean every other week when I was preg...I was just too tired and uncomfortable. My house is tiny...2beds 1 bath and I paid her $50. Definitely worth it...I will do it again...I just need to find the right cleaning person. MIL is back at work now, so I am in the market!

I LOVED having a cleaning service when I was working full-time. I had it before we had kids even :) We got rid of it now that I'm not working, but boy do I wish we still did! We paid $85 for biweekly cleaning. We have a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom house but they only cleaned 2 of the bathrooms. The would dust, vacuum and mop the entire house (we have all hardwood), clean both baths and clean the kitchen (including stove and microwave).

I had a cleaning lady a few years ago. Two bedroom and 1 bathroom. She did everything except laundry and she would occasionally do a load for 50 a week. It was the best money I ever spent! I really can't afford it now, but if I could guaranteed I would get one again!

We have one. It costs us 88 dollars every other week for a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home. I LOVE it! It is so worth the cost in my opinion.

SHe left and my house was spotless and I dont remember feeling that good in a long time! lol Something about a spotles house that puts me in the best mood! I was on cloud 9! I cant wait for her to come back in 2 weeks!

I have had cleaning ladies clean my house and it cost over 200 dollars. May I ask what company you are using, where it only cost 50 dollars? That sounds great.
