Sitting unsupported

Postby HeatherJ » Sun Apr 26, 2009 1:07 pm

I know we're not supposed to compare our kids, but I can't resist... at what age could your LO sit up by him or herself?

Sebastian still flops over, and I just want to know how common this is. :?

Both of my boys sat unsupported at about 5 months. However, I have a friend with a near nine month old who just started sitting unsupported maybe a month ago. She is totally normal, just one thing that took her a bit longer. She was giggling her ass off at 9 weeks old though (I was priveledged to get the first giggles out of her). Finn didn't giggle until, man, maybe five months old??? They're all different and they all even out in the end! No worries!!

Evianne couldn't do it one day, then the next could! Right at about 6mos. I wouldn't worry about it. He'll get it. =)

Don't worry - Charlie and Sebastian are backwards together :D He can sit unsupported when that's what he's trying to do - but most of the time he gets distracted by something - a toy he wants to grab or whatever - and keels over again! They'll get it. Charlie has FINALLY figured out how to roll back to his back. Two months after regularly rolling back to front...

My LO is nearing 9 months & is JUST now able to sit up for an extended period without falling over. He's been able to sit up for ages, but would fall over anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute after sitting. But he was early to smile, roll & laugh.
