Both of my girls have birth marks. It is called a storks kiss or angel kiss. They both have it in the same exact place on the nap of their neck. Vivian looks a lot like her older sister. I have even been accused of cloning them and this birthmark only makes my family wonder more.

I can't get a pic because Vivian is tooooo mobile and will not stay still for more than 1 second, but here is a pic I found on the internet that is very similar to theirs.

Luke has the angel kiss on his forehead (between his eyes) and the stork bite on his neck (just like the picture showed). Our pedi said those would fade after time, but it's not going anywhere - lol. I do hope the one on his face fades but I don't really care about the one on his neck :) He also has the same type of red spots on the back of his head (you can't see it because of his hair).

Violet has the same stork bite on the back of her head as well as one on the back of her right ankle. The one on her head has faded a bit but the one on her ankle is BRIGHT red -- espeially inside that ankle roll.

People stop me all the time to let me know that her ankle is bleeding, that's how bright it is.

I'll have to dig through pics & see I have one of it.

Zoe has the stork bite on the nape of her neck too. It runs in my family. All 8 of my dad's kids have it, and he does too.

She also has a very light brown spot just below and to the left of the back of her neck. I doubt it would show in a picture though lol.

My daughter has a pretty big birth mark on her left leg. It's almost the length of her shin. I'll post a pic later. It's will grow as her leg grows and will likely need to be removed before she's an adult. I guess technically it's a mole but since it's present at birth they call it a birthmark. I don't even notice any more...

Bailey has what's called a "Mongolian Spot" on her bum. It looks like a huge purple bruise. I guess they're fairly common in Asian children, and since she's half Asian it makes sense. It does kind of look like someone's been beating her poor bum

Georgia has the stork bite on the back of her neck too and a little angel kiss on her eyelid that I really only notice when she gets worked up and cries.

No birthmarks at all.

To be a real Mongolian Spot, doesn't it have to be on their butt only?

I thought Mongolian Spots were anywhere on the trunk (stomach/back) of kids Asian descent. :dunno:

My mom's friend adopted a little girl from China & she had a Mongolian spot covering almost her entire back. I'd never heard of them until she mentioned it.

Both my boys have birth marks. Ashton has a very very dark one on his bum! It's on his right butt cheek and is covered by his nappy/undies. I remember when we first saw it ht epedi said - don't tell him and he'll never know!! But he was laying in the bath a few months ago, on his tummy and he looked over his shoulder and saw it. He was really upset as he thought it was a leaf stuck to him!!!! Poor boy! He has a red stork makr on his neck, under his hair line - I haven't checked for ages if it's still there because you have to lift his hair up to see it - it was noticable when he was bald as a baby!!!
Benji has one on the end of his penis!!!! (not sure what it is with my children having them in such odd places!!!) He also has a light brown one on his calf and chest and some stork marks on his face.
Anyone know what cause them? DH and I don't have any.

Jason had a stork bite but it has all but faded now, for those of you with LO's that have that, it might still fade yet. It seemed to really only show up when he wore bibs, because it would irritate it.

Then he has two half moons, light colored marks, on each of his thighs, up towards his hips.
