Why? (early wakeup)

Postby Nikkeh » Wed Apr 13, 2011 4:38 am

Why is my 11 month old waking up at 5:30 all the sudden? He goes to bed at 7 but last night activities even kept him up until 7:45 ad he still woke up at 5:30 today. The house is silent at that time...it's only slightly light outside...he is still napping the same during the day (1hr morning, 1-2hr afternoon) but 5:30 is soooo early. Do you think it's the sun?

Have you tried feeding him and then seeing if he'll go back to bed?

I would guess something is waking him. Yes, 5:30 is too early....I would DIE!! Perhaps its just a phase..let's hope!

I put a blackout shade on one window (the store only had one in stock! grr) and he woke up at 6:00 instead. Maybe if we block out the other window he will wake up at 6:30? I can do 6:30. My husband gets up then.

But man am I a grump when it's still dark outside in the morning!

Isaiah wakes up at 5 on the dot every morning. I don't talk to him, I don't pick him up, I don't do anything but go make a bottle and feed him and he's right back out until 8am. :)
I put him to bed a little later then 7 tho. Isaiah goes to sleep at 9:30.

Didn't you think he was teething? Maybe that is waking him? Sorry I don't have any advice. Josh went through about a week of waking at 6 but has gone back to 7 now so hopefully this will pass for you too.

Probably just a phase. We went through many of those. But at my house, waking up at 5:30 is not even a consideration, lol. I would feed him and put him back to sleep!!!
