2 weeks old turning on side in crib?

Postby uggbug » Mon May 23, 2011 9:56 am

How do I keep him from turning on his side in his crib? I put him on his back and he immediately rolls onto his right side every time. Really freaks me out. I know all the sleep positioners have been taken off the market. Not sure I would use one anyways. Any other safe recommendations????

Is he swaddled? It would be hard for him to roll if he was tightly swaddled or in a woombie. http://www.thewoombie.com/

My daughter was so curled up that she'd often roll onto her side, too. There was nothing to do about it--it was all about gravity. She grew out of that very fast though, probably by four weeks. I'd try not to worry about it, it doesn't last long and because they're so curled up there's no chance they'll end up on their stomachs.

Mine slept on his side at that age. I just rolled up a receiving blanket in front of his lower half so he couldn't roll onto his belly.

We had the same issue with Mason when he has only 4 days old. Swaddling worked wonders for us, now that he is 5 months he is unswaddled and back to doing it.
