Potty training 2 3/4 boy......

Postby Merdy » Sun May 08, 2011 10:03 am

Tucker decided 2 days ago(in the afternoon) that he wanted to wear his Thomas underwear. So, I let him. I took him to the potty about every 20-30 minutes and he peed every time. The next day he pooped in the potty twice but wet his pants 3 times. He seems to be peeing every 15 min. Is this normal? I had heard to take them every 30 min. but this seems to be too long for him. Does this mean he's not ready? He's pooping great!

my son just turned 2 yesterday, but when I leave him without a diaper for rashes, he pees every 10-15 minutes. I'm dreading potty training for that reason.

My son turned two in march and we've been working potty training for a few weeks now. He goes 100% in potty (pee and poo) when he has nothing on his bottom. He runs in when he has to go on his own. The only time I offer is when we are out and he has a diaper on or at home when he has diaper on. Its hit or miss. I only offer like once every hour and a half to two hours. If I bug him he gets mad. However, when I try just putting underwear on or pants without diaper he will wet himself. So I dunno! I assume one day he;ll get it

the more you PT the more they will realize they have to hold it. it will get better. You also want to encourage them to tell you when they have to go vs. taking them all the time.

Yes Tiffaney, you are right. We are on day 6 and it's gotten much better. He's holding it over an hour at times now. I just didn't know what to expect. No accidents today!! I'm going to try to let him tell me when he needs to go tomorrow.
