Hey I have a two year old. She has started potty training at daycare which is great for me!!! What do you do with your toddler to switch them over to the big kid underwear??!!

When I switched my ds over I made sure it was a pair he could take down on his own (boxer briefs rather then reg boy underwear) and I just put him in them. He went in them by accident once or twice and would say, "uh oh momma!" and I would say It's ok lets finish in the potty" and walk with him to potty and he'd sit and finish. After he did that twice he got it and with a little practice he was able to get underwear down himself too. Pull ups were a joke (I know they work for some ppl) he thought it was a diaper and he should pee in them. I hope that helps :)

I had no real method. I jus waited until she was fully ready. Once she was going potty int he toilet more than she was in the diaper I just switched from diapers to underwear. We still use pull-ups at night but she rarely wakes up wet.

I started in underwear and only used pull ups for sleeping. I washed quite a few pairs those first few weeks but I think it was less confusing that pull ups.

I have not even started this but from friends who have gone through it many times this is what they suggested to me and I think I am going to try it.

1. When you make the switch just do it and deal with accidents bc the wet feeling will help them actually get "trained.

2. at bed time keep them in the undies still (not even pull ups) have a couple layers on their bed. Water proof mat then the sheet and then another layer. Then put a clean set of Pj's and undies right next to the bed. That way if they do wet the bed (which i am sure it will happen a few times) you are ready to do and all you have to do is strip the bed and change them and then back to bed. Worry about the laundry in the morning.

My daughter seems to be very awair of when she goes potty it is just getting her to tell me before she does it. I am just not sure when to start the process or even how... Maybe just make the switch.....

Best of luck!
